We’ve heard it said that Wales is just scenery and nothing else. How wrong could they be whoever said that!
This highlights section gives you the opportunity to pick the tour items you like and leave the ones you don’t from any of the themes to make up your own personalised highlights tour.
It could start in Anglesey or Chester then head along our stunning coast for a tour of the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno or medieval Conwy with its brooding castle. Perhaps a tour around the island of Anglesey, featuring the village with the longest name or a slate splitting demonstration at our National Slate Museum. You could follow this by a scenic drive into the mountains of Snowdonia National Park.
Your could head south to our famous Italianate village of Portmeirion or the pretty riverside village of Beddgelert to discover the legend of Gelert the dog and later find out why Welsh slate “roofed the world”. Take a ride on the Snowdon Mountain or Ffestiniog steam railways. So much choice, so anything but “just scenery”!
In North East Wales we have the pretty riverside town of Llangollen and the oldest continuous place of pilgrimage in the World – St Winefride’s Well to take the holy healing waters, before ending your tour in the Roman city of Chester.
